Nicoll Highway Collapse + Suntec City's Power Breakdown
Yup...by now..as u read this...u probably have heard of the collapse of the Nicoll Highway as well as the total power breakdown at Suntec City. But u probably didn't noe that I was at the scene! Haha..Well, not tat I was trapped under the rubble of Nicoll HIghway or anything lah..but I was at Suntec during the blackout. We were just eating at Burger King and Ana, Michelle and me wanted to head to the toilet since we're done. Right at the moment we stepped out of BK, the lights started flickering and went dead. The lights kept flickering though for a while...even as we reached the toilet. Ana couldn't flush the toilet after she peed. Haha. All those flickering of lights gave me a headache man. Anyway, the blackout started at 3:35pm as reported by the news. So, we headed for Eng Wah cinema where we were suppose to meet Dr. S to watch Passion of the Christ (it was more of a horror/thriller movie for me). The moment we reached there, Kevin said "Welcome to Eng Wah!" with his arms wide open in the pitched darkness. He was going around to all the MJ-ians...saying," Dun worry..Azza will come and fix this". This is an inside joke as Azza (dunno how to spell) is the person-in-charge of all the technical stuffs in MJC. Dr. S was like "What happened to ppl watching shows like Dawn of the Dead...suddenly they would be in absolute darkness...they probably screamed." Then, we decided to take photos in the darkness as a grp. We got ready and Emma went, "Ok...1.....2...." She never got to say 3..the lights were up again. She should have jus taken the pic..and then it would be a totally candid shot where everyone would be looking up..with diff expressions..keke. At exactly the same time, as Liyana, Ashiq and Rizal were heading towards Eng Wah cinema when the the power was still down, Liyana was like "Eh how seh...power breakdown...how to watch movie? They should let us watch for free!" The power was up and running right away...and yes..exactly after she said wat movie for free. LOL. The power was up again at 3:50pm as reported by the news.
And so, we managed to watch the movie The Passion of the Christ. It was really gory...with all the blood and stuff. I sat through the whole thing without covering my eyes. Yay! Haha. Rizal was practically covering his face with a bag..saying that he was cold. Rite.....*roll eyes* PLUS...I didn't cry...and the shocking thing was...Liyana never cried also! Cuz she dun understand some parts. =S Anyway, not bad ar the movie...I liked the person who acted as the devil...all the while I tot the devil was a man...it was actually an actress called Rosalinda. Anyway, I tot the devil was cool...I mean the way she acted. Anyway, right after the show, Dr. S told us the news that Nicoll Highway just collapsed..and tat explained the blackout at Suntec.So here's the update!...
A section of the Nicoll Highway collapsed. 1 construction worker dead. 3 missing. 2 are being treated at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and are in stable condition. 1 has been discharged. Singapore Power Holdings said that there were no foul play but instead the explosion was due to the accumulation of gas. The explosion resulted in a depression of 30m in height. There was a blackout at Suntec which started at 3:35pm and the power was restored at 3:50pm. Phew...That was like a WHOLE news report!! Hehehe...kept hearing it on TV.....until i also memorised already. After the whole movie thing...we decided to head to Nicoll Highway..but it was blocked...the whole road was empty even predestrians couldn't pass. Then we head to Bugis to eat...Chicken rice!! Then we went home..=)Again, on a lighter note...earlier on..in class..during Jac Yew's class(teacher absent)..Ana revealed to us a story that shocked the hell out of us. She told us abt a time when she was during Kindergarten and she saw this bunch of kittens and decided to play with them. Her grandma didn't allowed her to play with them. She didn't obey..she secretly took them to the second storey of the flat above her kindergarten and played with them. Suddenly, she heard her Grandma called for her. She panic...and threw the kittens down one by one from the 2nd level. She got back down..and saw the kittens all lying very still...all FIVE of them. Yes...she threw the kittens down..and killed them...ALL FIVE OF THEM. Michelle was like "Ok Ana...no way are u coming to my house to see my cats." We made Ana soo traumatised by her actions..but really it was really funny. Hahaha...

Once again, we have reached an even year - 2004. Once again, the national stadium is alive with the sounds of music and cheers. Spirits are high...Atmosphere intense. The SYF 2004 Central Judging - Display Bands (Secondary Schools) is finally here! The bands which took part were, West Spring Sec, Bukit Panjang Govt High Sch, Bowen Sec, Pinyi/Springfield Sec, Tanjong Katong Sec(duh), Yusof Ishak Sec and Deyi Sec. Bowen, TK, Deyi and Pinyi/Springfield got gold...and would be heading for the finals on 3rd July - National Stadium. TK Band's music has definitely improved...they sound very balanced. Bowen was loud...the music they chose were very catchy. They were more like a rock and pop band to me. The coolest part was tat the last song they played was Numb by Linkin Park. The music in my head now as i type this. However, I have to admit tat...if this was the finals...Bowen would have won. They seem to have the spirit in them...esp since their band conductor passed away 2 years ago. Winning the Best Display Band title for this year would be like a tribute to their conductor...so of course they really are dying to win this. I hope the TK band members realise tat..doesn't mean they won the Best Display Band title 3 times in a row..they gonna win it the 4th time. No doubt..the defending champion(tk band) was gd...but I tot..for today...Bowen was better. Many ppl tot so too. Dun be too complacent. TK Band needs to buck up and win this again for the fourth time...I'm sure they can do it...we always seem to buck up last minute....YOU HAVE TO!!! PLS DUN END OUR REIGNING YEARS AS DEFENDING CHAMPIONS! Stay up there!! You can do it!
Oh! And one more thing! Last Thursday ..got match bet MJC and HCJC! We beat them 3-1! Yay! Congrats! This coming Monday....MJC VS ACJC!! =)

Yesterday, there was a soccer match in our sch between MJC and CJC. We won...3-0..hehe. But some guy frm CJC got a fractured skull. Mr. Chen said tat there was a dent on his head ...and he broke his finger as well. The pain on his head was soo unbearable tat he didn't even noe he broke his finger. They said they could heard the sound of the skull fracturing like some distance away. Urgh..makes me feel sick.
On a lighter note, there was a match before this...bet HCJC and ACJC. Kinda boring...ACJC won...1-0. A funny..or rather 2 funny incidents tat happened was tat...there was this HCJC guy who kicked the ball and his shoe came off flying as well. Another incident was when this ACJC guy kicked the ball and the ball bounced of somebody and came flying back to him..................right into his face. =S It must be very embarassing for them with so many MJC ppl watching at the gallery..kekeke.
As for today, it was our class' turn to sell our items to raise funds for Tan Tock Seng Hospital. We sold photo frames....and we managed to sell almost all! Our frames were kinda popular...even the photocopying lady went out of her room to check out our frames..saying tat she saw some girl carrying one of our frames and she tot it was nice. We had plenty of teachers buying them and stuff. Yay!~ 03A2O2 Rocks!

Guess wat!? We ARE changing our sch logo again! Now we'll have 3 sch badges and I dun think any schs in Singapore provides that much collectibles.
They showed us the new logo..still got lion ar...and it was very disappointing. Later, I gonna tell u why. As usual, they gave us 3 logos to choose from. And when they said that the differences were very minor....boy did they mean wat they said. The only differences they had was...one was the lion with beard..the other 2 didn't have a beard...and the diff between this two was tat one had a silver streak on the mane...while the other had a blue strip. Like....Ooooh Kaaay...
Sigh..very disappointing lah. B4 they showed us the new logos, Miss Lai said that they're still gonna keep the lion n I was really hoping we'll have a classic lion..like the one u see on the NUS or NTU logo. But of course, my hope was destroyed...cuz they wanted a STYLISED lion...like modern-looking. But my hope not really destroyed yet ar...cuz after tat i was hoping the stylised lion would look abit more cooler..When they finally showed it...I wanted to scream. It was sooo shitty!!!!!! This grp of ppl shouted out and commented that the first logo looks like a sunflower with a lion's face. I was like "huh? wat sunflower? crap..." When they showed it the second time...i realise it really does look like a sunflower. Ana even said that...it looks like a jester..just put bells at the end of its hair...Many said it was arrogant-looking and all.
Really, u noe....wat is wrong with a classical lion?! Miss Lai said that they didn't want a classical lion becuz they think it's dumb to have a full-bodied lion..looking naked. Of course a lion is naked! It's an animal for goodness sake!! Wat..the lion is suppose to wear clothes is it!? Maybe we should have a classical full-bodied lion wearing t-shirt and shorts.

Today we had band after school...and it was a freaking long day. We had sectionals throughout the day for band. I think it was a pretty memorable practice. The trumpetors were practising near the PE lockers area. We were kinda tired of playing already and very bored. Wen Qi and I started to play arnd with the lockers. Wen Qi tried to put her trumpet in it and locked the door. I told her not to as usual...nobody listens to me. She wanted me to try open the locker..cuz she said she found out how to use the locker...or so she said. I gave up of course...then she opened it...the thing is..it didn't open. So, she started panicking..and all of us tried different combinations to open the freaking locker..it was useless...I mean u can't expect us to try from 0001 - 9999 rite? In the end we called for a PE teacher - Ms Choi..she had the key..she opened it for us. Lucky for Wen Qi she didn't scream or anything. Anyway, it was funny isn't it? Pls...this is a lesson to all of us..never...NEVER...insert anything valuable such as a $2000+ trumpet into a locker when u'r not so sure of how it operates....clear enuf? It was memorable though...rite?
I can't believe it!! How unfair can ppl possibly get!!! Sorry for the sudden change in topic...I jus found out tat my fren ain't gonna be the shooter for tomorrow's netball tournament with HCJC!! I noe her..I mean...wth..she's Liyana btw. I noe that she is very committed to netball...ALWAYS come seh..so LITTLE practices she never come. It's like besides the captain..she had got almost perfect attendance! She trained so hard and all...until she is sooo freaking tan already. As a fren, I'm kinda mad..not tat it has got anything to do with me...but it's simply unfairness! Some players weren't even very gd..but they're picked for the game tomorrow...Like, wat kinda f**ked up mess is tat!? sigh..I tell u..such shit will always exist in this world everywhere u go...

I finally found out my Econs results!! I only got an AO pass! So much for aiming a C at 'A' level pass. Anyway, for the essay section...we were suppose to choose 1 out of 2 questions. Apparently, I chose the harder question. At tat point of time I tot the first question was the harder one. The teachers said that most ppl who did the 2nd question did very badly. I got 14/25 for tat question. =S Didn't I say b4 tat i seem to do quite well for difficult questions and the opposite for easy questions. Well...it's proven AGAIN.
I think, earlier, I did commented tat our sch's logo is like SMU's. Guess wat?? We'll be changing our logo becuz of tat!! The teachers are telling students tat our logo looks like SMU's and needs to be changed. Well, tat's a pretty "recent" discovery. Gosh, it really took them a "short" time to realise that. *Pff* Pls lah...the first time we students saw it..everyone tot they had just experienced deja vu or something. The logo was soo damn familiar. By the next day, we all knew it's similar to SMU's logo. So I guess, we might be getting a new badge, PE T-shirt and stuffs. COOL!! hahaha...anyway, I think the new logo would suck as well..or maybe I'm jus a freaking pessimist...but it sure beats having a logo similar to SMU....=p
