I was kinda bored so I decided to look for comments ppl make on the net regarding the display bands competition back in April 17 (not tat it matters). Since the finals for the Best Display Band competition is coming dis Sat, i've decided to write MY OWN comments. So beware...dis is gonna take some time reading...n I'm sure there r ppl out there who might comment on dis...
The comments I see this year were the usuals u noe...There were those who spelt the mace as maze...baton I can accept...but maze? Some dun even noe wat it's called...n I dun blame them cuz it's not really something everyone shud noe...but it simply means u noe nothing abt such band competitions n tat da comments u make may seem rather dumb. And for the LAST TIME, da drum major does not really affect the band's total score. He's like a separate category lah. So, if he sux, he sux lah, he'll jus lose the Best Drum Major title...tat's all but the band still got hope to win. Then, there are those who feel tat Deyi, Bowen and TK Band "are the gods man". Then of course... we have the TKband fanatics n those who really think tat tkband shud go "kiss [their] ass".
But really, y do ppl hate us sooo much. No matter how gd we try to perform, they still think we were the worst band. N it's worst when such comments come frm the inexperienced or musically disabled ppl. Comments like...we dun deserve the gold lah...we dun deserve the Best Display Band title lah...Pls, we didn't claim the awards ourselves ok. We didn't make the decision. If u really hate the fact we get all this awards, go kill the judges ar. They think we're gd, our fault huh? Write them a letter, explaining y u tink we suck. Tell them tat they're blind bastards who noe nothing abt band stuff or music n tat u noe better. Threaten to stab them if they give us the Best Display Band title again for the 4th consequitive year. Do ANYTHING u want, jus dun blame us can? We're jus there to do our stuffs, jus like any other bands out there...showing off to the world our hard work. Then there's ppl who say tat tkband members are soo proud n arrogant tat their noses are permanently stuck in the air. Even b4 the comp starts, one must at least feel and look like a winner wat. U ppl look down n act like losers huh? I dun tink so rite? I didn't really see how the other band members look...cuz I tink all I could see was the sky ar at tat point of time. But I'm sure u guys had ur heads up high too which is gd...proud to see how each one of us are very proud of our own bands. Anyway, it's jus an image we all put up n make us look like arrogant ppl but inside we're all a bunch of sweet souls. =)
Ok, now let's see things in a diff way. All the bands competing for the Best Display Band title is a narrow view. The wider view is tat year by year as these bands compete n try to kick tkband out of her throne, they are actually improving themselves. It's to bring the standard of display bands in S'pore to higher levels. Right...I tink I have enlightened some ppl or maybe I'm already starting to make enemies...haha..i dunno. I also tink i'm done blabbering.
Seriously, I wud luv to see wat ur comments is. If u'r disastified with wat I've said so far n wanna argue, I'll be glad to do so. Jus tag me on my tagboard or u could contact me thru MSN. OK? See ya!
