I have a fren called Nabil...an ex-sch mate of mine. He has been known to be very religious and all. So, Zatty and I were grocery shopping..well actually I was the one doing the grocery shopping this evening for my mum. We were at Ngee Ann's City Cold Storage.Was looking for Orange Juice when I saw Nabil. I said "Hello!" He waved and said "Assalamu'alaikum!" I dunno why...BUT I WAS TAKEN ABACK! It's been a LONG while since a fren said tat instead of hello to me. For non-muslims...it's actually another way of how we muslims greet each other. Actually its how we shud greet each other lah..but most ppl are used to jus a simple Hi or Hello. Most ppl except ppl like Nabil. AND...when ppl say "Assalamu'alaikum" to u its only right if u reply "Wa'alaikumussalam" back. IT'S BASIC... But as I was saying, I was very much taken aback by him ah. It took me awhile to reply "Wa'alaikumussalam" back to him seh. Cuz inside my head I was thinking "Did he really said Assalamu'alaikum?"..."He didnt say hello rite?" I feel like such a SINNER!! When I did reply..it was too soft to be heard I guess. My hello was louder. He must be thinking wat a sinner I am too. Plus, I was wearing a skirt which was like one hand above my knee! Infront of him...i tink tat's a BIG NO-NO. Too much flesh already. SINNER!! Sigh...not my fault wat..most ppl say hello or hi seh...haiz~
