Promises from me are MEANT to be broken
especially when it has something to do with things i dislike such as EXAMS.
Since the start of this month, I have been trying to do nothing but
memorising. Just like a
bad internet connection due to a lousy modem, my
memorising speed/rate is very inconsistent. Treat it like downloading information from a website, I'm trying to download information from my notes and the textbook into my brain. So like i said, how fast i "download" is very inconsistent.
At times, I download at a speed of
1Mbps ( I don't wanna say 10Mbps cuz I'm a very modest person...). This happens for "
no-kick" chapters or those chapters I've read a million times.
Other times, I download information at a speed of
512kbps. This occurs for those more challenging chapters.
But
MOST OFTEN, my download speed is
dial-up connection. You know how your computer becomes super laggy when you try to
open too many programs at one time. My download speed deteoriates when I try to do too much like for example...
1) I daydream too much.
2) I'm thinking of what to blog abt next.
3) I'm busy eating Honey Stars. I eat more than I memorise. I LOVE HONEY STARS LAH AND KOKO KRUNCH!

This Honey Stars heart was created with much love...
But at the end of they day or night, I manage to memorise whatever I intend to memorise. So happy already, call my bf, brag to him about how much I managed to memorise, den go to sleep.
The next day I will wake up and try to recall and it feels like my brain just went through Windows System Restore. Like everything I downloaded got deleted but eventually I manage to dig some previously downloaded info from the recycle bin, so I clicked "Restore" and TADA! It's back in my brain. Those LOST info, I have to retrieve from "back-up folder", and that's from my notes lor.
So how much am I trying to memorise?

THAT'S how much I have to memorise. Wah... my phone
"damn good", so clear man...EH, wrong, I forgot to
ZOOM OUT.
THAT is how much I have to memorise. Oh don't forget the fullscap paper has
two sides!

I write my notes
VERY small. Cuz remember we have to
save the environment and save paper. So I took the initiative to write damn small to
save space and ultimately
save paper. This way, I also
sacrifice my eyesight, worsen it further. Confirm I gotta change my glasses or just take
lasik surgery lah! My mum pay mah...so no problem. At most, the doctor make mistake, I become blind. CHOI! TOUCH WOOD!! Oh btw, this is not all...

This are
MORE notes I wrote into smaller A5(?) papers...And also got the
OTHER SIDE...

And all this for only
ONE freaking subject - altogether 11 chapters. NOW, I'm trying to memorise my Advanced Marcom which is about 13 chapters? Rossiter and Bellman, many many times I will say this, their textbook
KILLS me. They write things like...
"
For the benefit presentation itself, we recommend a set of tactics modified from the High-involvement/Informational and, where applicable, Transformational quadrant of the Rossiter-Percy-Bellman Grid" (HAH? HUH?)"
"
If the target customer's major purchase motivation is transformation, overclaim, the key benefit and any other transformational benefits but, if informational, state the key benefit claim only at the upper limit of the target customer's estimated latitude of acceptance, even if you could objectively make a stronger truthful claim." (O.o layman term please...)
Hmm...actually after I typed all that down, it didn't seem so bad. I think I understand liao. Yay...
But just now, I read Chapter 12 on minimum effective frequency and immediately I thoughT...
WOW!! Sibei chim... To hell with chapter 12,
screw it!!
And for those who never read textbook, YES...they criticised the
Gross Rating Points(GRP) thing and really called it
GROSS lah....They criticised other things as well in a
sarcastic manner. Don't believe me ?Let me quote the bloody thing below...I've
EMPHASISED all the sarcastic remarks...
From Chapter 12, first page, "
GRPs, TVRs, TARPs and Impacts are useless concepts and should be buried, NOW. We will now briefly explain the fallacy but not GRACE these terms by defining them for you. (....) "Gross" rating points in the bad sense of "gross" is an APT description. (...) The proper, alternative, clearly defined replacement term is EFFECTIVE REACH, which is based on EFFECTIVE FREQUENCY" --> well duh, of course theirs is the PROPER and CLEARLY DEFINED replacement. SHEESH...
Then from Chapter 14, page 314, "
...for this reason of its "grossness", we do not recommend using GRPs..."
Lastly, I think the authors have this thing against anything american. But I have nothing against that...it's beyond what I should be caring about...
WAAAHHH....I damn free today seh...can write so looooong. So to my classmates, if u need some last minute revision, you can come visit my blog. I have to go back to memorising again. DANG...
